SNOOK SEASON OPENER!!!!

Thom and I went and caught our baits before dark. We caught all small croakers. We ended with about 4 dozen. Once it turned dark we went to Capt. Hiram’s and had some dinner. We wasted time just watching football waiting for midnight. We picked Jen up at the Marina just before 12 a.m. Good thing we did because she put the first keeper of the season in the boat. First cast, first drift, and 10 seconds later, Jen is hooked up with her keeper. That’s my girl, she fishes better than most men. It took me a little longer to get in the groove. I snagged bottom 6 times before I finally hooked up with a Snook. It was a fat 30″ keeper. Two down and one to go.

Thom’s first Snook which we released was a biggie, a little big at 36″.The tide was slacking and getting ready to switch to incoming. It was pretty slack when Thom hooked up with his second Snook which was in the slot. It was a good fish 29″ Jen saved Thom’s fish though. He had it next to the boat and it jumped and cut the leader, luckily  Jen got the net under the fish just in time.  That was the third and final keeper caught at 1:30 a.m. That was a lot of fun and the crowd was not bad. Only about 5 boats and we all know one another. Sorry there is no pics I got to excited and cut up the fish before I remembered pictures…Book Your Snook Trip Now!!!!!!!!!!
