Thom and Chipper
026The all-day trip. The morning came way to soon after fishing late the night before. I picked Thom up at Hiram’s around 9 a.m. We went and caught our croakers and made our way into the inlet for the tide switch. We anchored up and started fishing. Thom hooked and landed his all time biggest Snook. It was a fatty 24lbs. We were catching a lot of fish, but they were all too big. Its tough to get a slot size Snook. Redfish were in there as well. We decided to take a break back at the hotel for lunch. After a quick bite to eat we went and caught more croakers for the night time bite. The tide was late around 11 p.m. We decided to rest and meet back up later.

After a few hours of rest Chipper and I headed down and picked Thom back up. With the croakers ready to go we went straight to fishing. It ended up being the same thing as the day time bite. Nothing but big over sized Snook and Reds. We all caught a lot of Snook and not one keeper. I wish it was still 34 inches. Well it was good fishing, just couldn’t bring one home. Thanks again Thom for the opening days. It has become a tradition that I look forward to. Hopefully the keepers will be thicker in October for us. I’ll get those pics up soon, I promise.
