Pete and Deb
017Pete and Deb are from Florida. They live a little west of Daytona area. We met up at Sebastian Inlets boat ramp. The weather was perfect and the tide was incoming til 12:30 p.m. Bait pods of small greenies inside the inlet. We ran out and found the bigger size baits about 3 miles out and a little to the north. I love when the white bait is in close. We also stopped and caught some croakers for the tide change at the inlet when we got back in.

On the way out I noticed some good looking weeds in about 70ft. of water. I bet there are some smaller Dolphin in there and if you slow trolled live bait, you would catch a few. I figured we might try later. Once we arrived and started fishing, it didn’t take long and there was a fish on. Deb was hooked up, it was a nice size keeper Cobia. Pete hooked one up as well that was short. His next fish was a nice keeper though. The action was happening we caught a couple of shorts and lost a few. I don’t normally get a chance to fish but they were taking a break and a nice Cobia came up to the boat and was just begging for me to cast at it. I was already holing a rod with a bait and it was all to perfect. I hooked him up and landed it pretty quickly. Another keeper size Cobia. The bite slowed down and we decided to head back in and try for a Snook or two. Deb was on fire she caught three good size Snook. One would of been a keeper if it were season. Pete had a couple of fish on, but just didn’t land one. That was a great day of fishing. Thanks again Pete and Deb, it was great getting to meet and fish with the both of you. Enjoy the fresh fish!!!
