Don and Steve

Don keeper Snook 28 1/4 Don and Steve are friends. Don lives in Orlando and Steve lives in Michigan. They took a few days off for Thanksgiving. Booked a room at Capt. Hiram’s and a fishing trip aboard the Attitude Adjustment. Well the weather the past week has been cold. The water temp. has come down a lot compared to two weeks ago. I picked Steve and Don up at the fuel dock at Capt. Hiram’s at 4 p.m. The weather was nice, warmer than it has been and the wind was starting to lay down. Baitfishing was no problem, still a good mix of pigs and pins.

We had our bait and arrived at the inlet just before it got dark. The tide was incoming. We set up out in the mouth and made a few drifts. Don hooked up first with a big Red. About the time I was telling Steve to reel it in, his bait got nailed. Fish on, doubled up! Don pulled the hook on his, but Steve landed the first fish of the trip. Let’s just say after that it was big Red on every drift. I think it ended 3-2 Steve before the tide switched. We Snooked fish mostly after that. Don caught the first Snook of the night and it just made it in the box at 281/4″. Steve lost another nice fish half way through which I think was a nice Snook, that was my fault. Sorry! He did catch one that was just short. Steve would end the night with a hook up on a big Redfish. It was one of the last drifts and it ended up being the biggest fish of the night. Thanks Don and Steve it was a pleasure to meet and take you two fishing. I look forward to future trips.
