Capt. Eric

Curtis and Matson

Capt. Eric & Capt. Matson What a day, I started out this morning at 6 a.m. and went out in search of some Reds on the flats. I got there at right before light and when the sun started to light the Reds were tailing in pretty big schools. I missed my first hit but hooked up my second hit on a Zara spook. I stuck with the school and managed to land 2 more nice slot size Reds.

Curtis and Matson were at the dock at 9 a.m. I picked them up and we went and caught a few baits. Croakers are getting scarce on the beaches. We did manage to get a few Croakers mixed with a few Pins and Pigs. We got to the inlet just as the tide was slacking and starting to move out. I caught one pilchard while bait fishing and Matson wanted to use it for a Snapper. He tossed it out and about 5 minutes later hooked up a big Goliath Grouper. He was using 20lb. test with 40lb. leader and landed this monster. I always enjoy when I get to grab a big fish.

The Snook bite was going off. We all were catching over sized Snook. Curtis finally put the first keeper on the boat. Next, I landed a nice keeper. Matson was having trouble getting his slot size. After a few fish we finally got our third. what a day ! first the Reds, a big Grouper, and all those big Snook.
