Duck and Matt

The weather has not been to good lately. The winds are a steady 20kts out of the east. Matt and his father Duck were in town in Orlando together and it was the only two nights that they could fish. Luckily the tides were not to late and we were able to get on some fish. The first night we started off fishing 8:00 p.m. and the tide was still going out. It was not to rough to fish the tip and they were hooking up on every drift. The Snook bite was on! The bite lasted like that until the tide came to a still. around 9:30 p.m. Once the tide switched to incoming the bite never really went off. Duck and Matt caught one more Snook a piece. We decided to call it quits around 11 p.m. They ended the night with one 31″ keeper.

The second night the switch of tides was a little later. The winds never stopped blowing and it was quite a bit choppier in the Inlet than the night before. We fished it while the sun was setting, just before dark and I could see enough to keep us out of danger. Duck and Matt were catching Redfish. One of the Reds was probably a keeper but we released. Once it got dark it was unsafe to fish so we moved inside the inlet and fished. It was tough fishing with the winds and the tide. With the bad conditions, Duck managed to catch a big Snook. I think Matt missed one but overall it was tough the fish were not chewing inside. No keepers that night but some early action with the reds and one nice Snook. It was a fun two nights of fishing. Thanks guys for fishing Attitude!

Dan Agent and I,

The Strikezone Shootout was this weekend. Dan and I fished it together. The moon was at its brightest and fullest! The tournament started on Friday night at 9 p.m. and weigh-in was before 5 p.m. on Saturday. We fished for Snook Friday night. Dan caught the winning Snook, 12.3lbs at 9:30 p.m. We caught a lot of Redfish. Smallest Red was 28″. That ended up our only Snook.

After Snook fishing we fished the flats for Trout. We didn’t spend too much time with Trout. We ran into our friend Scott L. who already caught 10.13lb. Trout. So, our chances of catching one bigger was pretty slim. At 4 a.m. we crashed for a few hours then headed for a day offshore. We caught some fish, a few small kings, a small keeper Triple Tail and had a few shots at a couple of small dolphin. We also had a 40-50lb. Cobia swim up to the boat, I reeled a bait right up to him but he just turned his head and swam away. The full moon was having its effect on the fishing. We managed to pull out the winning Snook though. This was a very fun Tournament. Inshore and Offshore, fishing 20hrs. I will definitely fish the Strikezone shootout again next year.

Its been really windy. There was a cold front that just moved through, kind of chilly for almost May. It finally laid down a bit and we got a chance to do some Snook fishing. The bait was not a problem, we had a good variety of pins and pigs. The tide in the Sebastian Inlet was slack from out to incoming at dark, 8:30 p.m. The bite was a little slow. Plenty of Bluefish in inlet to be caught, a lot of half baits brought back to the boat. Doug hooked up at about 10 p.m. with a good fish and it gave him a one heck of a fight. At first, I thought it might be a big Redfish. Doug did a great job of landing that 25lb Snook. It was one of the fattest Snook I have ever seen! It was THICK! Thanks Doug for fishing with Attitude, it was a pleasure meeting you.

We finished bait fishing with about 3 dozen baits( pins and pigs). Once it got dark and the Bluefish moved out of there, we were able to get a bait down long enough for a Snook to find it. It was a little tricky fishing because of the winds and roughness of the waves. George was first to hook up with a nice big Red. After the first drift, at least one of them were hooking up on every drift. The best was the double up on two keeper Snook. They ended with there 3 keepers and lots of action! Thanks guys for a great night of fishing! Enjoy the fresh fish!

The tide was outgoing in the inlet when it got dark. The 2nd drift and Nate hooks up and lands a 32″Snook. Next drift and John lands a 31″ Snook. It was a little rough but the bite was on. Andy landed a big Red. Nate caught the biggest Snook of the night 35″. It was a great night with lots of action. Thanks Andy, Nate, and John.

Monty, David, and Mac are from Ohio. We met up at the Inlet Marina at 4 p.m. We had to move to a couple of different spots in order to catch enough bait for the night. The tide was slack at sunset. It started to move in right at dark. It did not take long before Mack hooked up. He hooked up with a Snook that ended up being the only keeper of the night. The bite was on! We were fishing two rods every drift and one would get hit each time. Monty had the biggest fish of the night, 28lb. Red.

Monty, David, and Mack caught a lot of fish between them, Redfish and Snook. Mack did a great job for being only 9. The bite was going off! We all had a lot of fun! We missed a few Snook but it didn’t matter with all the others that were caught! Hope you guys enjoy the fresh fish! Thanks again.

Bait(pinfish) have been moving through the inlet by the loads. One good cast net throw and your in it to win it! With it getting dark early that has been a bonus. We fished the south tip on the incoming and Gary was hooking up on every drift. The bite was on! First fish on was a biggie, that fish had its day with Gary. Most likely a big Redfish.

First Snook caught was a 33″ . The next one made the slot though at 31″. Gary caught a 6lb Spotted Sea Trout on the drift as well. That don’t happen a lot. It was a great second trip of Snook season for Gary! Thanks again Gary, I appreciate your support and enjoy fishing with you. Next time we will get that monster Red! Happy Holidays to your family!
