The weather was perfect. Light west wind. Seas 1-2ft. We headed out from the Inlet Marina at 7 a.m. The tide was incoming in Sebastian Inlet on the way out. Threadfins and Spanish Sardines are on the beaches near the inlet. We picked a few up and headed to the north. We fished a few spots in 60ft. and caught a Cobia that was just short and a few Seabass. While we were running around we came across some schools of BIG JACKS!!! Jason and Justin each caught a one. Biggest was Justin 28lbs. and other was Jason 21lbs. I didn’t think that big one was ever gonna stop running. We also caught some Spanish Mackerel that were in a feeding frenzy.

We headed out to the 90ft. stuff and moved around a few times catching seabass. There was no current and we were just drifting. On the last spot we got into the Red Snapper. I wish we could of kept them. Jason and Justin ended up catching 6 and we left them biting. Only one getting a fresh Snapper dinner today is the big Bull shark that came up and fed on one of Justin’s fish. That is always kind of cool to see. Well that was a great day of fishing, lots of action. Thanks again Jason and Justin for both trips. I’ll see you in a month ,maybe?

They come down every year and stay in Melbourne, Beach. The winds were calm first thing at 6 a.m. By the time I got the boat in the water, the winds were already blowing steady. They switched and started to blow out of the N.E. We Started off drifting the flat behind the inlet. Dave and Bryan were catching Ladyfish on almost every cast.

The ocean was rough, we slowly worked our way up the beach. There were Kingfish sky rocketing, we caught a few croakers and few blue runners. We slowed trolled the bluerunners back to the inlet. Dave hooked up first with a nice King. It was a close call, both lines were tangled and were sitting out back of the boat. I was untangling the lines and seen the King coming up on the bait. A quick decision to cut the other rig ended up paying off. It was a great fight for Dave, he almost got pulled in twice. There were a lot of greenies that came up as it started to calm. We continued fishing and caught a few Bonita, Spanish Mackerel, and Blues. It was a good day filled with action. Thanks Dave , Bryan and Alyce it was a lot of fun getting to know and fish with the three of you. I Look forward to our next trip!

John A. and Steve A.

The winds finally laid down enough to get out in the ocean and look around. The weather was not perfect though. It was overcast and raining on an off. We decided to go for it anyways and launch the boat at the Port.(Port Canaveral, Fl.) With Three dozen shrimp and a box of squid we went in search of ? We started off jigging the cans for triple tail, no luck. As we got out to the end of the buoy line we started noticing bait pods of pogies. There were lot of bait pods in one little area. It was really cloudy and rainy, the visibility was horrible. Small Blacktip Sharks were no problem, we hooked and caught a few, not on purpose just didn’t see them. Blues and Spanish Mackerals were in abundance as well.

We did get lucky one time. I was up on my perch and spotted a Cobia swimming through the bait. Spotted it out to John and before I had a chance to cast he was hooked up. It was 36 inches and a good fish. That was it though we never seen another Cobia and we were fishing bait pods all day. I think if there was some sun, the fish would of been coming up and we would of killed it.. Good day though, nice to get out with friends.

Hiram’s. With the winds as bad as they were there were not a whole lot of options. We fished some of the flats back behind the Inlet. Been spotting some schools of mullet moving around the flats. Mike caught the first two fish, that were Trout. The three of them were catching Blues, Jacks, and ladyfish every few casts. Patricia caught a decent Spanish Mackerel. A lot of action and a beautiful day on the water even with the strong winds. Nice to see the river coming back to life. Thanks again Cornelius, Patricia, Mike for fishing with me. I wish you two happiness with your new home here. Congratulations! See for Snook Season!!!

The weather is starting to warm. We met up the Inlet Marina at 8 a.m. The tide was incoming til 11 a.m. We stayed inside and fished the flats first thing. We came across this floating Cajun Thunder, it was moving around, going under for minutes at a time. I pulled Dan up close and had him make a cast ahead of the moving cork. He missed the first two shots then on the third it was perfect, he snagged the rig and just below the bobber. It was a good fight on the other end, as it got closer we noticed it was a 5lb Trout. Dan played it out for a while and the Trout got off and we got a free Cajun Thunder, yee haw!!! We moved to the Inlet and fished the incoming tide around Monster Hole and caught tons of Bluefish and small Jacks. It was a good and action packed trip. We had alot of fun. I hope to fish with these two again in the future. Thanks Dan and Freddy it was great fishing with the both of you.

They wanted to split up into two’s on two different boats. Miguel and Brian wanted to fish with Capt. Eric Olsen. Which put Chip and Philip with me. We headed over to the flats. It was a perfect morning, these guys picked a perfect couple of days for fishing. I set up a drift and helped push them through. There was a lot bait. I did not see the schools of reds. Chip hooked up first with a nice small Snook. Philip soon after caught a Snook of the same size. The 2 Snook and a small trout and a small Jack on the flats.

At the inlet the tide was coming in. We made a few drifts and no Reds. There were some small Spanish along the beach. There are some Bluefish in the inlet as well. With the incoming tide we moved to the back. Set up for drifts with a jig for the 3 spot flounder. Chip and Philip caught 2 or 3 each. The half day was up and we met the others back at Hiram’s for lunch. During lunch the wind picked up out of the north. After everyone finished eating we went back out for a little bit. Philip caught a nice size Spanish Mackeral. The winds were increasing pretty hard. I decided we would try a couple of passes for the grouper. No luck. The day was good, perfect weather up until lunch. Miguel, Brian, Chip, and Philip thanks for the opportunity to take you fishing.

Well, I picked them up from the Crown Plaza and we headed for Hiram’s. Well I had bait ready to go so we headed straight to the Inlet for the Snook bite. Once we got the anchor position set right, it didn’t take long and Alex was hooked up. He did everything right because he got the hook to set the first time. Alex had his first Snook on and he was amazed by the power and quickness. We landed it and snapped a few pics. Henry missed one and then on his second bite he got the hook to set. This was a nice Snook as well. The fish tried to get around the anchor line but Henry did a nice job of staying with it and taking it under the line. Check out the pic. Alex hooked up with a second Snook and enjoyed a good fight. This fish was a 12lbs.

The tide was slowing and so was the bite. I was informed of some tarpon rolling and Bonita exploding, so we decided to check it out. We caught some Spanish Mackeral and hooked a big Bonita but had some problems with another boat being in the way. The Tarpon were thick but we could not produce a hit. The greenies are there as well just a little farther away. Well thanks Alex and Henry for a fun trip and I am sure the moon will shine.

Jake and I,

Jake is my girlfriend Tiffany’s son. Its summer time and he has been involved in a camp every week since school got out. This is the first chance that just him and I could spend some time together. We made our way to the dock in the morning and proceeded to go catch bait. The weather was perfect and we were on two missions, to catch some croakers for us and some pins for a local charter capt. We managed to catch about 50 pins, 10 pigs, and 6 croakers. Thats all we needed to have some fun.

After bait fishing I dropped the pins off at the dock and we made our way to the inlet. The tide was still coming in and we were going to wait for the switch. There is a lot of baby greenies in the inlet. I was casting a white Rapala and caught a couple of Spanish Mackeral.

The tide was starting to switch and it was time to set anchor. It was just a matter of time until the bite was to start. I tossed out a croaker and with in a few minutes it got hit, Snook on. I set the hook and then let Jake reel it in. It was quite the battle for Jake who is only 7 yrs. old. Well I helped and we finally got the Snook to the boat for some pictures. It was a fatty. The Snook continued to hit one after another until we ran out of baits.

I caught Snook on every rod on the boat. Jake was helping the whole time. His second Snook he did a great job of fighting the fish, just a little help from me. Well we were 5 for 6 on croakers and 2 for 3 on pigs. That was a lot of fun. All the Snook were good size. The smallest was 27″ and the biggest 35″.
