The Ocean was completely flat today. It was a beautiful day! It don’t get much calmer. I met up with a friend of mine, Robby. We threw the cast net a dozen times and ended up with a good variety of bait. (Pilchards, Pins, Croakers, Mullet, and Pogies) It had been a couple of weeks since I have been offshore and wasn’t sure of what to expect. We fished a few spots in the 60ft. stuff and basically caught one nice Red Snapper, a lot of Seabass, As big nurse Shark, and broke of two god fish that we never seen. Check out the pictures of the Shark! The winds picked up in the late afternoon around 3 p.m. and we headed in.

We headed out of the Sebastian Inlet at 8 this morning. The water temperature is still a little chilly. It was 64 degrees this morning. The temperature came up to 68 when we came back in this afternoon. The weather was beautiful, sunny and calm S.E. winds. We stopped at a few bottom spots and dropped. We caught lots of Sea Bass, a few Triggers, and some small Snapper. We never had a big hit.

We stopped and fished a weedline on the way in. We found one turtle with a small Cobia on it. Jose caught and released it. It was a beautiful day on the water and fun fishing Jose again.

It’s hot but at least the winds have laid down for now and we can get out and fish, seas were 1ft. The moon is at its fullest tonight and that can slow fishing down. Steve and Jake are from Arkansas and Scott lives in Orlando. We departed from the Inlet marina. We went and caught our bait before heading out. We caught a good mix of everything. Also netted some pogies behind the inlet. The plan was to do a little bottom fishing in 50ft. and come in and try for a Snook at the end of the trip. They caught there limit of Seabass and Jake caught a nice Red Snapper. I think they might of lost a few good ones as well. But what’s a fishing trip with out the story of the one that got away!

The Snook bite either was not happening today or I just showed up a little late and missed it. They did catch a couple of decent size Jacks that were fun. Over all it was a great day on the water with perfect weather and a great group! Thanks guys and well see you on Friday for trip #2

After a few stops Dave hooked the first Cobia. It was a 34 inch keeper. We ended up catching 9 Cobia, 3 were Keepers. It was a action filled day. The sun was out and the winds were calm. The winds are calm and the ocean is flat. The visibility is still dirty and there is another big swell on the way. I picked Jesse, Kevin, Alex, and Jason up at Capt. Hiram’s in the morning. We caught plenty of small croakers then headed towards Bethel Buoy. There were small Sardines on the buoy. They were good enough for our share of Kingfish. We slow trolled the ledge and caught 7 or 8 Kings before we moved on and fished the bottom.

Once we started to bottom fish, they were catching Seabass one after the other. Jesse caught three Red Snapper, Two of the three would of been keepers. Alex caught a keeper Mangrove. We fished a few spots from 90ft to 60ft. Along the way we came across a log that had some juvenile Dolphin. We played for a bit catching and releasing. Overall it was a good day. A cooler full of fish, good laughs, and Rednecks!!! Thanks Jesse, Kevin, Alex, and Jason it was a pleasure fishing with you guys. Hope you guys had a great time as well.

The weather was perfect. Light west wind. Seas 1-2ft. We headed out from the Inlet Marina at 7 a.m. The tide was incoming in Sebastian Inlet on the way out. Threadfins and Spanish Sardines are on the beaches near the inlet. We picked a few up and headed to the north. We fished a few spots in 60ft. and caught a Cobia that was just short and a few Seabass. While we were running around we came across some schools of BIG JACKS!!! Jason and Justin each caught a one. Biggest was Justin 28lbs. and other was Jason 21lbs. I didn’t think that big one was ever gonna stop running. We also caught some Spanish Mackerel that were in a feeding frenzy.

We headed out to the 90ft. stuff and moved around a few times catching seabass. There was no current and we were just drifting. On the last spot we got into the Red Snapper. I wish we could of kept them. Jason and Justin ended up catching 6 and we left them biting. Only one getting a fresh Snapper dinner today is the big Bull shark that came up and fed on one of Justin’s fish. That is always kind of cool to see. Well that was a great day of fishing, lots of action. Thanks again Jason and Justin for both trips. I’ll see you in a month ,maybe?
