Sans, Jerry, and Mark

7-1-08 Sans Snook Night trip, The weather has been better. The rain was thick it never stopped. These three guys are hardcore! Most guys would have canceled. We got rained on the whole night. The tide was incoming most of the evening. We caught some Pins and started fishing in the Inlet. Nobody could get a hit outside around the bite. So we came in and fished the back. Jerry caught a few small Snook on Grubs. That was pretty cool, the Snook were around 25″. Sans hooked up with a fatty on a pin. That was a good size fish. Mark caught a fat Snook in the back as well.

As the tide was slowing the bite slowed. We waited for the tide to switch and the bite to pick up. The tide was outgoing around 10 p.m. The Snook turned on, Sans and Mark each caught another Big Snook. We had a few misses as well. Well overall the trip was great. The fishing action was hot. The rain was even tolerable. Thanks again Sans. Jerry and Mark it was a pleasure to fish with you.

Sans and Greg

Greg Snook Catch and Release Snook, season is closed. I picked Sans and Greg up at 6 p.m. We looked for the croakers but not much luck. I came inside and had no problem catching pins. The tide switched to outgoing around 6 p.m. As it got dark we moved into the inlet. It was a great night Greg instantly hooked up with a nice Red. Sans caught a nice Red as well. The first two Snook were in the slot size, go figure. Greg also caught a monster Snook. Nice catch, Greg. Sans had a good size Snook too. We were careful with the Snook and released them with care. This was a great night with tons of action. A night to remember. Thanks Sans and Greg. Sans I will see you in July. Let me know on your dates?

Thom

Closing night of Snook season. I picked Thom around 7 p.m. from Capt. Hiram’s. We went to the Inlet to cast net some Mojo’s.  Bait was thick on the north side. The tide switched to outgoing around 9:30 p.m. The fishing was slow. Thom caught one short Snook 26″. I couldn’t get a bite. There were about 7 or 8 boats in the Inlet and no one was catching fish. Snook season is closed until Sept. 1, 08.

Dave, Greg, and Joey

The tide was going out most of the night. It slacked at 10:30 p.m. The winds are strong 10-15E. The pinfishing was kind of rough. Still a lot of small baits. The fishing was tough with all the wind. The bite was on for a bit. We had some nice hook ups but just couldn’t get anything to the boat. Joey lost the best fish of the night. It was a nice Snook, he just couldn’t get it turned. He did a great job. There were a few Ladyfish caught. Thanks again Dave and Greg for your support. Joey keep fishing you are a natural. It was truly a pleasure to meet and fish with you guys.

Miguel, Rick, Aaron, and Nathaniel

Nathaniel 39 The weather was a little rainy with a few showers over the area. I picked the guys up at Capt. Hiram’s at 6 p.m. We went straight to get pins. It was a little tough to catch bait(pins). We ended with 3 dozen. The winds are calm and the tide is slack at dark switching to incoming. Fishing was slow, maybe only 3 or 4 hits all night. Only one Snook brought to the boat and Nathaniel caught it. It was a monster 39″. That was a BIG SNOOK! nice catch Nathaniel. With the bite being slow we decided to call it a night and get some rest for the morning trip.

John R. and Chief

The winds were still west 10 mph. The tide is incoming all evening. The pinfish were near the inlet. We caught plenty of baits. We made our way to the Inlet at dark. The fishing was slow. We are two days past the full moon. It was a little tricky to fish with the west wind and the incoming tide. Chief caught one small Snook and lost one keeper. John only had a hit or two. We fished to midnight and decided to call it a night. Thanks again John and Chief it was nice to fish with you two. Hopefully they will feed better next time.

John, Bob, and Sans

Bob with a Fat Red The weather was windy 10mph west. At dark the winds laid down. Pinfish were still tough to find. We caught atleast 3 dozen though. The tide was incoming all evening. The tide slacked around 11 p.m. The moon was fullest. The fishing was slow. There were a few hits near the end of the tide. Bob landed a nice big Red. On the outgoing the Blues and Ladyfish are in there thick. You have to beat them off. John caught one keeper Snook on a plug. Over all I would say that the fishing was slow due to the full moon. It was a beautiful night though. Thanks John, Bob, and Sans it was pleasure to fish with you guys again. Hopefully next time we can tear them up!

Dave, Renato, and Marli

5-17-08 009 The weather is nice. A little overcast with some small showers. The wind is west 10mph. Incoming tide most of the night. The tide slacked at 11 p.m. Well we left from the inlet at 5 p.m. and headed to fish the beaches for croakers. No luck, maybe there gone after that bad weather. I just need to find them again. The pinfish catch wasn’t much better. We ended with close to 3 dozen pins. As we started to fish Dave hooked up first, on the second drift. This one was a screamer, it ripped off some line in a hurry, Big Snook. Dave did a great job of landing it, 36 inches. The bite was on. We were getting a hit just every drift. Renato caught the first keeper, just 28 inches. Next fish was on the boat was Dave’s biggest Snook 37 inches and FAT! check out the picture!  Dave also put the next keeper in the box a 30 inches. That was a good night if we would of had more bait we possibly would of got a third keeper. Thanks Renato, Marli, and Dave it was great to fish with you. Marli I hope that your back is feeling better.  Sorry again for the jerks fishing from the rocks. Enjoy the fish.

Mark A. and Greg

5-15-08 Greg The weather was rough. The winds were blowing strong 15-20 mph out of the south. The tide right now is incoming until 10 p.m.  We met at the boat ramp. Mark and Greg are from Michigan. I offered to reschedule because of the strong wind but they had limited time in Florida. The ocean is way to rough right now for bait. The pinfish are not thick but we caught close to 3 dozen.

We left for the Inlet just before sunset. The tide was incoming and there were Bluefish killing our baits. Mark did catch one that was decent size. The fishing was difficult, the wind was ripping out of the south. Greg had the hot hand he managed to hook and land two big over sized Reds and a Snook that was just shy of a keeper. Once the tide switched we had to move. We fished a little of outgoing but no luck. Thanks guys for fishing with me. I hope our offshore trip went well.

Kelly and Bob

Bob snook Kelly Big Snook Kelly and Bob are friends and business partners. They run Malabar storage here in Palm Bay, Fl. The tide was incoming all night the switch was at midnight. We caught plenty of Croakers, they were thick. We watched the sunset and then headed to fish. The fishing was really slow at first. The Bluefish are thick, watch your baits. With the tide getting faster the fishing became impossible. Bob was the only one to get a hit, he had it on for a minute but came up short. We decided to take a little break and kill some time instead of our baits. We anchored up and waited.

When we went back to fishing the tide was just starting to weaken. The bite didn’t happen for a bit. Kelly was first to catch a fish a nice Redfish. On the next drift Kelly caught a keeper Snook, just 28″. Bob caught a big Redfish a few minutes later. Kelly caught a Snook that was 37″ that was a big boy. Nice Catch and Congrads again. I switched them over to plugs and Bob caught his keeper Snook fat 30″ and another short. The ladyfish are crazy thick on the outgoing. Well it got late quick. 2 keepers and that was that. Thanks Kelly and Bob for hooking me up with some storage and I hope you guys had some fun.
