Inshore and Offshore fishing, Sebastian Inlet

Chris, Holly, and Ray

We started inshore for the Sebastian Inlet Snook, then went offshore to bottom fish. Chris and Holly own Black Dog Bait and Tackle in Melbourne Beach. The weather was perfect today with no winds in the morning but by the afternoon it was a north. The tide in the Sebastian Inlet was outgoing till about 9 a.m. and the Snook were not biting.

Once the tide slacked we headed offshore to 60ft and slow trolled a few Pilchards. Chris caught a Bonita and Holly hooked up and landed a solid 30lb. Kingfish. The bottom was marking up really well but the bite was a little slow. Ray caught a small Mangrove and a couple small Seabass. Holly caught a decent size Nurse Shark. We also lost a nice fish on the flat line. We headed back in to the Sebastian Inlet and drifted a few times with the Pilchards and caught several Jacks. The time was about 1:30 p.m. and Holly and Chris needed to get back to the shop. Thanks Ray, Chris, and Holly it was fun fishing with you.

Dave and Jenny…trip#2

rsz_gopr0045What a great day of fishing. The weather was perfect. We started off the morning cast netting and getting plenty of Pilchards. We headed straight offshore to some 85ft. stuff. We mixed it up a little with some slow trolling and bottom fishing. Jenny caught a really nice Mutton Snapper and a big Mangrove Snapper. Dave caught a nice Mangrove as well.

The kingfish on the flat line and the slow troll were going nuts. Dave and Jenny caught there limit of Kings and released several. It was a fun day with perfect weather and tons of action. It felt great to be offshore. Thanks again Dave and Jenny for fishing with me. It is always a pleasure fishing with you two. Hope you enjoy the fresh Snapper.

Art and Sam

DCIM100GOPROArt and his son Sam live in Melbourne Beach. The weather was nice. A little cloudy but the winds were light offshore. We met and departed from the Inlet Marina first thing in the morning. We went to the Inlet and fished for a bit. We just caught some Jacks and Bluefish. We decided to run the beach and search for the Tarpon. There were some schools of Pogies, they had a few fish on them.

We kept moving south till we found a good size school of Mullet. There were some Tarpon on them along with some Sharks and Bluefish. Art and Sam caught a couple of Blues, had a Tarpon pick up the bait drop it and hooked up and landed a solid Kingfish which weighed 42lbs. We finished our trip back at the Sebastian Inlet, where Sam caught a keeper Redfish. The bite was a little slow and it was getting late so we decided to call it a day. Art and Sam it was nice meeting and fishing with you. Thank you again for fishing with Attitude!

David and Bo

DCIM100GOPROWith the Snook fishing being so slow, we decided to give bottom fishing a shot. The ocean was a little bumpy on the way out. Once we got out to 90ft. and made a few drifts, I set the anchor, then it was not long until David and Bo were hooking up left and right. They caught a nice King and 2 keeper Grouper and a handful of nice Mangrove Snapper plus a fair share of big fish that took us to school and got away.  It was a great bottom bite and as the afternoon approached the winds laid down making for a very nice ride in. Thanks again David for bringing your family fishing with me again this year. It is my pleasure to fish with you and your brothers and father. I Hope you guys had a great dinner and enjoyed the fresh fish.

Jeff and Bruce

DCIM100GOPROThe weather has just been perfect for the past few days. Jeff and Bruce from Ohio fished with me last year. Today we headed offshore. We stopped on the inside bar and slow trolled some live bait and caught our limit of kings.  Next we headed further out to the 90ft bar. It was a little slow out there, but managed too pull up a nice Red Snapper and a Cobia that was just bit short. We also had a few big fish on that we never seen. Overall,  a great day on the water with a couple of cool guys. Thanks again Bruce and Jeff for fishing with Attitude!!!

Another great day aboard the Attitude Adjustment! caught a handful of Kings. A few Bonita and we hooked up and jumped a White Marlin which was really a sight see! We had it hooked on a Kingfish rig, so it didn’t last long. Great day to be offshore.
