Guthy, Bug, and I

DCIM100GOPROChased the rays again today. The weather was nice to start. The rays are moving a little out of my reach. We did find a few around 12p.m. Guth hooked up and landed a 37lb. Cobia off the 2nd ray we seen. We seen two other rays all day with no fish. Winds came out of the SE and it was time to head back.

Bud, lee, and Matt

DCIM100GOPRO The weather was perfect. No winds all day, nothing but sunshine. The Cobia are still happening. Lots of Rays but not much fish home. We worked hard searching all day. We lost a big one around 2 p.m. and nothing else till about 4:30 we came across a ray by itself and was stacked with Cobia. We caught a 48lb. and a 25lb. off that ray before we lost it. Just a bit later we came across a few more and pulled our third Cobia a 30lb. It was a great day paying off at the end. Thanks Bud for fishing with me again.

Chipper and I

DCIM100GOPROThe weather was foggy in the morning. Once it cleared up it was a perfect day. The ocean was completely flat. We fished a few different depths and spots. We started off in 60 ft and caught a couple of Red Snapper. Then moved out deeper. We came across a turtle that had a short cobia on it and Manta Ray that had 2 short cobia. No keepers, well the manta went down after the first cast so maybe it had more fish. On the last spot we stopped, I was marking Cobia big time, but could not bring them up for nothing and could not get them to hit. I even had two hard head Croakers.  I heard of a few nice Cobia being caught from other boats. So pretty sure that we had under us just couldn’t produce. Some days just aren’t your day!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALooks like the fishing is picking up. The river is really dirty from the Sebastian River.  There has been some Bonita action and Jacks along the beaches. The Snook bite is fair. The Redfish in the inlet has not been working with the dirty water on the outgoing.  There has been alot of jacks though in the inlet and the some nice Mangrove action action as well. Try the incoming tides. Offshore, A few Cobia here and there and some nice size Mangroves still the best thing going.

Steve,  his Son and Granddaughter

The beaches are really cold right now. the Surf temp. is 72. Not much happening inside. We headed out to the shoals and did some chumming for Cobia.  We managed to catch about 5 Cobia. 2 were keepers the other 3 were just short. It was a fun day, the weather was great and the rains held up long enough for us to get back in.
