Clint and his Family fished with me a few years back. The weather was nice but the seas were picking up. There was a light wind in the morning out of the S.E. We fished for a bit just outside the inlet. There was plenty of bait pods to get our greenies. Drake caught a Bonita. Clint was wanting to try his luck with a Goliath. I headed offshore just in time because once we made it out, the winds picked up. We slow trolled some lives and caught a few kingfish and a lot of Barracuda. After the family had there action, it was time for Clint to test his skills.Clint( The man) pulled it off. On his 3rd chance( hook up)he got a Goliath to swim away from the Buoy. 30 mins  later we landed a nice size Goliath. I love seeing and grabbing those sea monsters when there next to the boat. That was a very cool moment. Clint was so stoked to land it. Just seeing how happy he was, keeps me stoked. Another great Memory! Thanks again Clint and Tracy!

The weather has just been so perfect. Hot, but perfect calm. Everyday has been a sheet of glass and I have been able to run full speed. There have been some afternoon thunderstorms to watch out for. Today Thom came over from the west coast and we fished it up. I dipped a few crabs on the way out and the greenies were still thick along the beaches. We ran the beach for a bit and found a school of bait with some BIG JACKS! Thom caught a monster that was 30lb. also a Bonita and a small Cobia as well. There was action all day. We were catching Kings, Barracudas, and Bonita until we were worn out. That is when Thom hooked into a big Permit with one of the three crabs we had in the well. He was fishing with 10lb. test and 25lb. leader. After a 30 min. fight Thom finally pulled the 32lb. fish into the net. Congrats  Thomas!! On the way back we picked up a decent keeper Cobia on the slow troll. Great day! Lots of reel screaming, rod bending action! Thanks again Thom it was great fishing with you again, it had been awhile. Dave , Bryan and Alyce are from Canada. They come down every year and stay in Melbourne, Beach. The winds were calm first thing at 6 a.m. By the time I got the boat in the water, the winds were already blowing steady. They switched and started to blow out of the N.E. We Started off drifting the flat behind the inlet. Dave and Bryan were catching Ladyfish on almost every cast.

The ocean was rough, we slowly worked our way up the beach. There were Kingfish sky rocketing, we caught a few croakers and few blue runners. We slowed trolled the bluerunners back to the inlet. Dave hooked up first with a nice King. It was a close call, both lines were tangled and were sitting out back of the boat. I was untangling the lines and seen the King coming up on the bait. A quick decision to cut the other rig ended up paying off. It was a great fight for Dave, he almost got pulled in twice. There were a lot of greenies that came up as it started to calm. We continued fishing and caught a few Bonita, Spanish Mackerel, and Blues. It was a good day filled with action. Thanks Dave , Bryan and Alyce it was a lot of fun getting to know and fish with the three of you. I Look forward to our next trip!

The weather finally took a break from the freezing cold and warmed up a bit. With Cobia on the brain, Eric and I decided to run offshore and give it a try. We set out S.E. towards Bethel Shoals. Seas were 2ft. and a little choppy on the way out.  There was a little bait on the buoy but they were not biting a sabiki. Next stop was a spot on the ledge. There was Kings skying on bait pods. We started casting anything and everything and were hooking Kings one after the other. I was catching them on a 4000 with 10lb. braid. We quickly limited out with our 4 fish. We fished the bottom for awhile catching Seabass and even a nice yellow tail Snapper. I had a Cobia hooked up and lost it, thats when it swam over and ate Eric’s Jig. Then he had the pleasure of loosing it. It was maybe a keeper.  The winds laid down and the sun came out. It made for a great ride home.
