Tom and Grace

Tom and Grace are Wisconsin. We met up at the Inlet and Started out for a grouper but no luck. We had one hit but lost it. Just a couple of inshore grouper caught this year. The tide was dead low. It was switching to incoming around 9 a.m. The weather was perfect, hard to believe its almost Jan. We went on and caught a few baits, bait was plentiful. The Inlet was incoming when we got there. No Reds or Jacks. Just a lot of Bluefish 2-3 lb. range. Tom caught his share on a light tackle. We just using a little diver plug. Thanks again Tom and Grace. We will see you next time. Please drop a comment.

Chip, Philip, Miguel, and Brian

005 After a great night of fishing the four were back for there day trip. They wanted to split up into two’s on two different boats. Miguel and Brian wanted to fish with Capt. Eric Olsen. Which put Chip and Philip with me. We headed over to the flats. It was a perfect morning, these guys picked a perfect couple of days for fishing. I set up a drift and helped push them through. There was a lot bait. I did not see the schools of reds. Chip hooked up first with a nice small Snook. Philip soon after caught a Snook of the same size. The 2 Snook and a small trout and a small Jack on the flats.

At the inlet the tide was coming in. We made a few drifts and no Reds. There were some small Spanish along the beach. There are some Bluefish in the inlet as well. With the incoming tide we moved to the back. Set up for drifts with a jig for the 3 spot flounder. Chip and Philip caught 2 or 3 each. The half day was up and we met the others back at Hiram’s for lunch. During lunch the wind picked up out of the north. After everyone finished eating we went back out for a little bit. Philip caught a nice size Spanish Mackeral. The winds were increasing pretty hard. I decided we would try a couple of passes for the grouper. No luck. The day was good, perfect weather up until lunch. Miguel, Brian, Chip, and Philip thanks for the opportunity to take you fishing.

Ron, Cathy, and Nick

Cathy and Trout 9-24-07 Ron, Cathy, and Nick are from up state New York. The weather is windy N.E. 15 mph. The wind has been blowing for a solid week. The sun is out and it was clear. The tide is high in the early morning. With the strong winds, fishing was going to be difficult. We worked our way to the east shore line and set up some drifts over a flat that has been producing some nice Reds and Trout, I have even seen some nice size Snook. We fished with some live shrimp and some jigs. Cathy was first to catch a fish, a keeper Trout. Nick caught the next Trout which was a keeper. Ron switched over to shrimp and put a keeper on the boat. Ron also caught a small Jack. Cathy caught the fourth Trout.

As it was getting later we decided to catch some pins and pigs. While we were catching some bait, we had a line out the back and Ron caught a nice size Bluefish. We made our way over to the inlet and the tide was ripping out with the winds blowing hard east. We fished a few spots but never could produce a hit. Thanks again Ron, Cathy, and Nick. It was a pleasure to meet and fish with you. Hope you enjoyed your dinner.
