The weather has been not so hot the past week. We had rain and tropical storm winds for three days.  The water is really dirty and at a high level right now.  Not to mention the full moon! Well we decided to check it out and see what was happening. The tide starts incoming around 6 p.m.  There are lots of schools of mullet moving through and the Blues and Jacks are having a field day. After catching our bait we played with Blues and Jacks on light tackle and had some fun.  We fished the incoming tide most of the night. Thom caught the only big fish, an oversize Red.

The weather has been near perfect for the past few days. The humidity is gone and so is summer. Welcome fall! Welcome holidays!  Al, Stacy, and Frank have fished with me for the past few years. I picked them up at Capt Hiram’s just after the TB Rays were eliminated from the playoffs.

We went and caught plenty of bait(pinfish). A lot of mullet right now moving around the flats and the Sebastian Inlet area. Al was fishing some hand picks and caught a Ladyfish and a monster Bluefish. The tide in the Inlet is outgoing til 11 p.m. We fished the rough waters off the south jetty. It was extreme fishing at it finest! Al put the first fish on the boat of the night. It was a nice Red that weighed 23lbs. Stacy  hooked up next and landed a big 34″ Snook. On the next drift,  Frank joined in on the action and caught a nice Red. There were some BIG REDS in the inlet last night. Frank had the biggest of the night, which was approximately 35lbs. I guess I need a 60lb. Boga grip! Frank also had a 33″ Snook. Those were the only two snook caught.  The Redfish bite was happening and we were hooking up  on every drift.

The winds picked up around 10 p.m. and the tide started to slow. The fishing got a little difficult. We fished till about 11 p.m. and called it a great night! No keeper fish but a lot of keeper memories! Thanks Al, Stacy, and Frank it is always a blast fishing with you. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for our Thursday trip.

Dave, Bryan, and Alyce are from Canada. They fished with me last year. Well the weather was perfect for fishing the ocean. We got our baits first thing. Greenies are thick along the tide line. There were some big schools of Jacks swimming around the bait pods. We played and caught a few.  We headed to the north where the king bite has been. We had a lot of good action once we got baits in the water.

The Kings were 10 – 15lbs. range. We easily had our limit. That was a great day with tons of reel screaming action. Thanks again Dave, Bryan, and Alyce. I hope you guys enjoyed you fresh fish. Hopefully you will fish with me again next year….

The weather was perfect, no winds or clouds. We met at the Inlet Marina. Leslie, Charlie, and John have been out with me a few times before. Being Phillie fans, they usually fish with me around spring training.  We started off in the flats and they were catching Trout, ladyfish, and small Jacks. The weather was so calm that we went out into the ocean. There was action everywhere. Greenie pods and glass minnow pods were thick. There were a lot of Spanish Mackerel and Bonita feeding on the pods. Charlie and John caught there share of Spanish. We were running and gunning. Charlie got hooked up with a nice Bonita. John doubled up as well. The fish were crossing each other and Johns line got cut. Charlie did a great job at fighting the Bonita on 10lb. test. We also spotted a large school of BIG Jacks! John got hooked up on one and quickly learned the power of a horse Jack. Well, lets just say I think next time he will know to keep his rod up! It was fun while it lasted though.
