Capt. Eric

Joe, Jim, and Greg

Joe 3rd big Red The weather was nasty Sunday afternoon. There were some 30 mph winds and heavy rains. After the storms passed at dark it turned out to be a nice night. Today was a little windy, but tonight was no wind, It was calm. Joe, Jim, and Greg are neighbors in Palm bay, Florida. They were wanting to catch some Snook and Reds. We met up at Capt. Hiram’s. Bait was no problem, plenty pins and pigs. We made it back to the inlet 30 mins. before dark. The tide was still outgoing. I set them up on a drift where the Reds have been lately and it was like instant hook ups. Joe and Greg doubled up and both landed there huge Reds that were 25 lbs. plus easily. Jim caught a huge Red on the next drift. The Redfish were there, thicker than ever. I think there were 6 or 7 Reds landed, plus a few misses, all in 45 mins. The tide was slowing down and so was the bite.

The tide slacked and it was weird because there was a little bite there for 10 minutes as it started to move in. Greg missed a good hit. He hooked and landed his second hit. It was a small Snook. Joe and Jim each had a opportunity and only one. I was getting pumped thinking the bite was going to happen. Well, it never did. It just shut back off that quick. We fished for 2 hrs. into the incoming and it never picked up. The tide was incoming super slow. Jim had a big fish on for a second. I think it was a Goliath. We fished and fished, just no Snook Bite. Joe, Jim, and Greg it was a pleasure to take you three fishing. Maybe next time the Snook will just jump in the boat. Thanks again guys!
