Karl, Orest, and Stephen

Stephen 20lb. Snook I picked Karl, Orest, and Stephen up at the Inlet. With plenty of time before dark we set to troll for some Grouper. Stephen caught on small Grouper. We moved on to get our bait for the night. Plenty of pigs and few pins and butters. It didn’t take long and we had more bait than we could use. The tide was outgoing in the inlet. It was starting to get dark and the fish were gonna feed soon.

Karl missed a fish right off. It was a little difficult to fish because the tide was ripping pretty fast. I decided we would fish some plugs. Orest was first to hook up and put a fatty in the boat. Orest and Karl were catching nice fat snook with every try. The bite was on. Stephen was having a little trouble. He did get a few small Snook. When Stephen was just about to question what was going on he hooked up a monster. He did a good job at getting this one to the boat. The biggest of the night, 20lb. Snook. Nice fish Stephen.

We switched back to live baits and Karl hooked up with a monster as well. Another 20lb. Snook, just a bit shorter but fatter. That was a heck of a fight. Karl knows what he is doing a good fishermen. He pulled it away from the fenders with authority. Orest and Stephen each caught snook on live baits as well. This was an incredible night. It was better than some of the October nights. Thanks Karl, Orest and Stephen it was a pleasure to fish with you three. well see you again..

Wayne, Willy, Molly, and Melissa

These four are from Virginia. We started off on the flats, the tide was low but the weather was perfect. I figured we give it a try. There was a little schools of bait moving and I positioned the boat so everyone could cast around the schools of bait. Molly was casting soft plastics and the others were using live shrimp. Melissa caught a small trout. Willy hooked into a decent size slot Red. He was stoked it was a good fight on the light tackle.

We worked our way off the flat and headed toward the inlet for the Bluefish action.  Everyone caught there share of Blue’s. Tons of action. Well the trip was a lot of fun. Thanks Molly, Melissa, Wayne and Willy. I hope to see you guys next year!

Tom and Grace are Wisconsin. We met up at the Inlet and Started out for a grouper but no luck. We had one hit but lost it. Just a couple of inshore grouper caught this year. The tide was dead low. It was switching to incoming around 9 a.m. The weather was perfect, hard to believe its almost Jan. We went on and caught a few baits, bait was plentiful. The Inlet was incoming when we got there. No Reds or Jacks. Just a lot of Bluefish 2-3 lb. range. Tom caught his share on a light tackle. We just using a little diver plug. Thanks again Tom and Grace. We will see you next time. Gary and Andrew

015 Gary and his son Andrew are from Virginia. We met at 3 p.m. at the Sebastian Inlet Ramp. We pulled a few lures for the Grouper but no luck. I decided we better get our bait before it got dark. No problem with bait. lots of pigs, small pins, and some butter’s. We made our way to the inlet just as dark was setting in.

The tide was outgoing. After a few drifts, Andrew hooked up first with a nice Snook. He got it to the boat but it was still green and he lost it. It took a few more tries and he hooked and landed his first Snook. Gary joined in and caught his first. A nice keeper size. Too bad it’s not season. Andrew and Gary each caught there share of Snook. Andrew caught the biggest of the night (18lbs. 38″) nice fish Andrew. Thanks again Gary and Andrew. You guys were a lot of fun to fish with. Hope you like the Pics ?

Chip, Philip, Miguel, and Brian

005 After a great night of fishing the four were back for there day trip. They wanted to split up into two’s on two different boats. Miguel and Brian wanted to fish with Capt. Eric Olsen. Which put Chip and Philip with me. We headed over to the flats. It was a perfect morning, these guys picked a perfect couple of days for fishing. I set up a drift and helped push them through. There was a lot bait. I did not see the schools of reds. Chip hooked up first with a nice small Snook. Philip soon after caught a Snook of the same size. The 2 Snook and a small trout and a small Jack on the flats.

At the inlet the tide was coming in. We made a few drifts and no Reds. There were some small Spanish along the beach. There are some Bluefish in the inlet as well. With the incoming tide we moved to the back. Set up for drifts with a jig for the 3 spot flounder. Chip and Philip caught 2 or 3 each. The half day was up and we met the others back at Hiram’s for lunch. During lunch the wind picked up out of the north. After everyone finished eating we went back out for a little bit. Philip caught a nice size Spanish Mackeral. The winds were increasing pretty hard. I decided we would try a couple of passes for the grouper. No luck. The day was good, perfect weather up until lunch. Miguel, Brian, Chip, and Philip thanks for the opportunity to take you fishing.
