Miguel and Brian, Chip and Philip   www.brickmangroup.com
Chip with a monster Redfish Miguel, Chip and Philip live in Orlando and Brian lives in Atlanta. They booked a room at Hiram’s for a night in order to fish the Sebastian area. We met up just before dark. Miguel and Brian helped me catch bait. When it got dark, they had dinner at Hiram’s and I went and threw the net twice. I caught more bait than we needed with four people. The tide was switching to incoming around 8:30 p.m. We made our way over there around 7 p.m.

With the Inlet packed with boats we set up our drift and Philip(14 yrs. old) was the first to hook up with a big Redfish on the first drift, This kid can fish. The Reds were super thick again. It is tough to get a bait through to the Snook. Everyone caught a few nice big Redfish. Chip’s fish was the biggest of the night (31lbs.) That was a pig. Just a couple small Snook and 1 keeper caught. Philip did a great job and caught his keeper on a pinfish. Tons of action!

Thom and Mike

Thom with a Big Goliath Thom and his brother Mike. We met up at Hiram’s around 4 p.m. No problems getting bait. The tide was incoming all evening. When it got dark we made our way to the inlet. Thom was first to hook up with a biggie Red. Thom is starting to get this whole inlet fishing down, making it look easy he caught the first couple of fish(Reds). Mike soon joined in and got his first big Red. There were some keeper size Reds in the mix as well. Thom and Mike each caught a slot size Red. The Red were really thick, it is hard to get a bait through the Reds without getting hooked up. The Snook are there.

It was beginning to rain and Thom was just saying if it started to rain any harder that we should head for cover. Just like clock work his Bait gets SLAMMED! FISH ON, Thom yells! I asked him if it were the bottom and He said,  no way its a BIG FISH! The Rain started to come down harder.  This fish was screaming drag, I had to go after it. That first run was a long one. It had to be a big Goliath. Thom was putting the heat on this fish with 20lb. test line and 40lb. leader. Thom did a great job at getting this beast to the boat. After Mike almost threw me in I finally got a hold of this Goliath. It bottomed out my 50lb. scale. That was awesome, a great fish. Check out the mac-daddy Pictures. We ended with 1 keeper Snook, 2 keeper Reds, and lots of releases.

Quinn

11-25-07 Quinn Quinn is from Vail, Colorado. He was in town for a few days and wanted to try his luck with the Snook. We met at Long point Tackle Shop. The Sun was out and it was clear so far. The tide was set to switch around 12:30 p.m. We had plenty of time to get our baits. After bait fishing we made our way to the Inlet.

The bite turned on right as expected. Quinn got his lesson on Snook fishing real quick. After a few losses he landed a 27 inch Snook just a little short. Quinn caught one more Snook that was 25 inches. There was one or two of the Snook that got away were keepers.Well maybe next time Quinn. It was a pleasure to meet you and lets hook up when I make it out to Vail. Thanks again.

Joe and Debbie W.

Joe and Debbie W. 11-24-07 Joe and Debbie are from Palm beach area. They were up here celebrating there anniversary. We met at Hiram’s in the morning and headed to the flats and worked some live shrimp and some plastics. Debbie caught a few small trout. The action was a little slow. I suggested we try Snook. We headed and caught some bait. The tide was still incoming when we got there. We made a few drifts and no luck.

As the tide started to switch. We got our spot and anchored. The Snook turned on like it was August. Every time Joe would put his bait in the spot it would get slammed. Joe put his Keeper on the boat first. Debbie lost a couple before getting the hang of it. We had our limit in about 20 minutes. All together, I think Joe caught 7 or 8 and Debbie caught 4 or 5 Snook. Most of the Snook were nice slot size fish. There were a couple that were to big and to small. That was hard to believe they were feedind like that in the end of November. Thanks Joe and Debbie for the trip, that was a lot of fun.

Don D, Brian, and Amber

014 Don D, Brian, and Amber are from Texas. The weather was nice and clear. The tides are incoming for one hour into dark. The bait is getting a little trickier to find. We started off outside the inlet instantly hooking up with the big Reds. Amber was first landing her biggest Red to date with a 23lbs. Nice catch Amber! Brian hooked up next and set the scales a little higher with a 26lbs. Another nice Catch, Nice catch Brian! The tide was beginning to switch, Don hooked his just as it started to move out. Don did a great job in the rough water of getting his big Red to the boat, another 26lbs. Nice catch!
With the tide making it rough we moved inside and started for our Snook. The Snook fishing is a little slow. We missed a few and Amber landed one more Red that was smaller 16lbs. Brian landed a short Snook and after some work he hooked and landed a nice 31″ Snook. Just enough for a great family Dinner. We fished a while longer, but no luck. Thanks Don D, Brian, and Amber for a fun trip.

John B. and Kyle B.

Kyle B. his first Snook John and his Son Kyle are from Las Vegas. I picked them up at Capt. Hiram’s at 7:30 a.m. and we headed for some flats. The winds were NE 10-15mph. and sunny. We set up for a drift across a nice flat where I have been catching some reds. With the chop on the water it was tough. John and Kyle both caught a few small trout and missed a few, nothing keeper size. After some searching we decided to try our luck with the grouper. We fished a few of my favorite ledges but no luck.

The fishing was slow, I decided we should catch some pins and pigs and try our luck in the Inlet. Well the ocean was just
a little choppy but we could fish it. The tide was just starting to go out. Perfect timing, we anchored up and instantly were hooked up. It took a few misses and then Kyle was on fire. He picked it right up. This kid is gonna be one hell of a fisherman. He put two keepers on the boat before his dad got his first fish. It was a pleasure to take you two fishing and thanks again John for the trip.

Hiram’s at 4 p.m. and set off to catch are bait. Pins and just a few pigs. The pins were big as well. The sun is setting now at 5:30 p.m. and it is completely dark by 6 p.m.

The tide is incoming until 9:30 p.m. We set up east of the bridge and on the first drift Cassie hooked up with a nice Redfish. That was Cassie’s biggest fish ever approx. 17lbs. nice catch! On the next drift it was Ted’s turn with a 30 inch Redfish. We continued to catch a few more Reds and 2 short Snook. Cassie had a keeper next to the boat but it broke off. As the tide slowed we moved in to the fenders and caught a few more short Snook. Ted didn’t get his keeper until the outgoing tide. Ted also caught a fat Red it weighed 27lbs. on the Boca Grip. After a few more fish it was time to call it a night. The Snook were there just a lot were small fish. Tons of action!  Thanks Ted and Cassie for the trip.
