Thom M.

Thom and a Biggie Red.. “The Percentage man” Thom has predicted another good bite. He has it worked out and knows when the bite is gonna be hot! Well we met up around 6 p.m. and Matson and I had all ready caught plenty of bait. Mostly pigs and a few pins. The moon is full and the tide was incoming at dark. The tide switched to outgoing at 10:30 p.m.
On the first drift Thom hooked up and landed a small Snook followed by a few more shorts and a 14lb. Red. We were fishing east of the bridge when Thom hooked up in to a monster Red, man that fish was big. Thom whooped it pretty good though. We took a few pics and released it unharmed. The Tarpon are in the rough, we hooked one and jumped it. The tide was beginning to slow and the fishing was getting easier. Matson hooked and landed the first Keeper Snook.

Thom soon followed with his keeper a fatty Snook 32″. Thom was telling me to get a line in the water and to try and catch one. As soon as I threw a bait out he hooks up, another fatty 32″ Snook. I never had a chance. That was funny. Thom was on fire he was hooking up on every drift. With our limit of Snook we headed to Hiram’s for a cocktail. This was a great night, one to Remember. Thom you are the man, well the percentage man anyways. Thanks again for everything

Gary and Diane

Gary & Diane Big Snook 10-13-07 Gary and Diane are from Orlando. It was Diane’s 40th B-day and Gary treated her to a fishing trip. We met up at Capt. Hiram’s at 6 p.m. The weather is a little windy about 10 - 15 mph. out of the S.E. We had no problems catching bait, pins and pigs. The tide was still slowly moving out at dark. We set up a drift and Gary hooked up, he lost it half way through the fight. I told him not to worry because we don’t want to catch a fish on the first drift it’s usually bad luck.

The tide was beginning to come in. Diane hooked up next and landed a nice Redfish. We kept fishing and the tide was getting faster, I had to use a 1/2 oz. split to get the bait down. Diane caught another couple of Reds and Gary caught the first Snook. It was just a little short of a keeper. Gary soon after that hooked into a nice Snook that was 31 inches, the first keeper. Diane was red hot, she was hooking up on every drift. Diane’s first Snook was just Short 27″ and her second Snook was a fatty 34″. Diane did finally get that nice 32″ Snook.  After a few more drifts and catching a couple more Reds and short Snook we ran out of bait. It was a very good night, lots of action. Thanks Gary and Diane for the trip and I hope to fish with you two again.
